Dallow Hall Barns

The Mosaic Trail

This pleasing walk follows the Mosaic trail. Twenty-two mosaics were made in 1997 by the members of the local community who met each week at the Kirkby Malzeard Mechanics Institute, under the expert guidance of Rural Arts North Yorkshire. These mosaics, each fixed on a stout boulder, are sited at strategic points on the route, such as beside gates, at turns, by a ford or just inside the forest. They mark the way and aid route finding on the six-and-a-half mile walk around Dallowgill Moor. Some are tucked away and a careful search is needed to find them.
